Gelişen Nesil Joined the Young Civil Society Workers Programme in Istanbul!
As Gelişen Nesil Association, we joined a two-day training and networking programme in Istanbul to strengthen our institutional capacity in the youth field and contribute solution-oriented input to the common problems young civil society workers face.
Held on 13-14 June 2026 at the historic Hüsrev Kethüda Hamam in Ortaköy, Istanbul, the "Training and Networking Programme for Young Civil Society Workers" brought important topics to the agenda: the rights of young people working in civil society, working conditions, organising experiences and the changing labour market.
The programme featured sessions on the problems young civil society workers face, precarisation, labour law and the right to work, the history of unionisation, the right to organise, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, new communication techniques, campaign processes, advocacy and policy development.
We see our participation not just as a training process but as an opportunity to think together with organisations working in the youth field, share experience and develop new areas of cooperation. We believe that for young people to take a stronger, more secure, more informed and more effective place in civil society, rights-based knowledge, solidarity and institutional capacity are essential.
We aim for the knowledge and contacts gained throughout the programme to feed into our youth work, volunteering policy, advocacy approach and capacity-building activities for youth workers.
As Gelişen Nesil, we keep working for young people to grow not only as participants in activities, but as actors within civil society who create, decide, know their rights and drive social change.
